If so, we have a great opportunity for you! Volvo Group Trucks Technology is looking for a Group Manager, Maintainability Engineering to join our team in Greensboro, NC!

Our team, Aftermarket Technology, provides Volvo Group with the best possible solutions supporting aftermarket business. Thanks to our deep technical, business and customer knowledge, we deliver solutions and services for the salesmen, the mechanics and parts personnel at dealerships and other service points. In Aftermarket Technology we aim at securing that Volvo Group Truck vehicles can be easily maintained to secure uptime. We work closely with engineering functions as well as to end customers and are spread across multiple locations including: Hagerstown, Greensboro, Lyon, Gothenburg, Curitiba, Bangalore and Brisbane.

What You Will be Doing
As Group Manager for Maintainability, you will be leading the aftermarket input for development of new or improved transport solutions. You will be the customer voice in developing advanced transport solutions and will be part of a dynamic, hands-on engineering team with responsibility for all areas of the truck and all product ranges in North America. You will work in a global environment delivering maintainability solutions to customers using our products all over the world.

Your responsibility is to lead the group and manage deliveries in start cost, maintenance, and advanced engineering projects. You are also expected to drive change by continuously driving for a Lean Engineering setup. In this position you will be part of the North America Aftermarket Technology management team and will report to the Director, Aftermarket North America.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Leading the team in concept reviews and packaging studies to ensure designs optimize maintainability.
  • Managing the team to Build product and technology business cases to support concept selection optimized for maintainability.
  • Leading maintainability team in gap analysis for an assigned product or technology.
  • Managing work with Brands and uptime stakeholders to document customer needs (product targets).
  • Supporting Maintainability team in balancing of maintainability cost requirements within all GTT technology streams.
  • Participating in global strategy development for maintainability within all Volvo Technology and Vehicle streams.
  • Managing the budget and resource planning for the team.
  • Driving change according to the global strategies and Way of working.
  • Cultivating an Agile mindset in all team members where problems are embraced as welcome opportunities to adapt.
  • Building an effective and highly productive team within Aftermarket Technology.

You are an experienced leader who has a strong customer focus and ability build strong relationships across the business. You have courage, integrity and a drive for results. You motivate and inspire others through your excellent leadership and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 8-12+ years of related experience
  • Experience working in a continental /global and cross functional organization
  • Knowledge of the overall business fundamentals, customer needs and key players in the transportation industry
  • Excellent people skills and strong ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3-5 years of direct supervisory experience
  • Experience in product development

Our sales team members represent all the great products, programs, and service options we offer to the dealership and OEM’s sales force and customers. We are the face of VFS in the field making the business relationship personal and helping drive innovative adaptation and customer success. The Electromobility Territory Finance Manager (eTFM) represents VFS USA through strong, loyal, value-added working relationships with our Volvo Truck and Mack Truck distributors, our Volvo and Mack Truck OEM Electromobility counterparts and our mutual retail customers. The eTFM reports to the VP of Sales and Customer Experience. The preferred location for this position is Salt Lake City, UT. Alternative locations could be Irvine, CA, Portland, OR or Seattle, WA. Travel is estimated to be 2-3 weeks a month across CA and the western US, to include working out of our Irvine, CA office with our OEM partners 1-2 weeks per month.

  • Meet or exceed established territory quotas for “Retail Volume” in eMobility loan and lease volumes while balancing profitability
  • Meet or exceed established territory “eMobility Penetration” goals, which is defined as the number of new Electric Volvo or Mack trucks financed as a percentage of new Electric Volvo or Mack trucks delivered to the end user in the assigned district
  • Effectively manage the overall territory and relationships through analysis of potential dealer and customer opportunities
  • Develop actionable and measurable territory plans to achieve targeted goals
  • Directly contact, interact and collaborate with eMobility Volvo and Mack Truck field and support representatives to ensure that Volvo/Mack Financial Services is supporting the eMobility efforts and strategy of the OEMs including training
  • Support Mack and Volvo OEM efforts on conquest and targeted customers by team selling and bundling of the truck sale with our financial services and electric total offering including the truck, charging, Contract Services, and insurance
  • Prepare and present electric vehicle finance and lease proposals to dealers and customers
  • Maintain knowledge of eMobility industry and economic trends, commercial activities, legislative actions or legal changes which may affect VFS or its customers and involve appropriate personnel
  • Grow knowledge of, and participate in, grant programs for developing and securing customer funding and incentives to drive the total cost of ownership
  • Collaborate with the eMobility Market Development Manager to ensure alignment in strategy

Who are you?

You hold a BA/BS degree in Finance, Marketing or a related field. We prefer you also bring 7 or more years of relevant experience in Financial Services.

You exhibit strong consultative selling skills that deliver results for dealers and customers, offering valuable advice leveraging our portfolio of programs, services, analysis, and industry insights.
