Overview / Job Description

This position, located in the Cincinnati, OH market, reports to the Senior Customer Category Manger – Kroger and supports category leadership efforts by providing ad-hoc category and shopper analytics and developing actionable recommendations to drive category/brand growth.  These insights will create and deliver solutions that satisfy both Tyson and Kroger strategies and objectives.   It involves a high level of interaction with both Tyson and Kroger management.

Utilizes department & category leadership platforms to create actionable and relevant insights that can be applied to retailer-specific category strategic and tactical plans.   Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates with retailer on insights utilizing market and competitive trends
  • Leverages key shopper and industry trends
  • Analyzes category, competitive and market trends (syndicated data)
  • Develops and drives assortment and space optimization at the retailer
  • Provides on-going post promotional analysis for retailer
  • Develops Category Business Plans with internal sales team
  • Develops customer Category Reviews and New Item presentations with the support of various team members.
  • Develops insight-based recommendations based on analysis of space management (e.g., assortment), sales, distribution, pricing and promotion
  • Provides ongoing reporting to both retailer and sales teams

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Location: Cincinnati, OH market (highly preferred)
  • Kroger experience and/or Kroger specific data (84.51, Market 6, IRI) is highly preferred
  • Strong experience in syndicated data systems (Nielsen/IRI)
  • Minimum 4-6 years in category management/shopper insights or similar function in Consumer-Packaged Goods (preferred).  Food industry experience a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Must be comfortable presenting to Sr. Mgmt. and voicing opinion to team
  • Excellent planning and project management skills
  • Strong ability to leverage creative thinking and presentation skills
  • Travel: Minimal, estimated 10 – 25%

Overview / Job Description

Serve as an SQF practitioner in the facility Serve as the HACCP program coordinator Develop and maintain compliance with plant programs such as PCCP SSOP process control and CN Supervise the staff of quality auditors formulators and lab personnel up to 5 employees Serves as a technical resource on cross-functional plant teams Conduct tests projects and process improvement work to obtain company s goals and as directed Investigate customer complaints and assist in product recall Maintain technical competency in plant computer programs and quality related systems Investigate and resolve holds customer complaints and challenges to efficiency Innovate to improve the effectiveness of the qualitysystem to better serve the business TASKS: Ensure food safety and personal safety of people in our plant. Monitor production conditions specifications process controls and tracking controls. Develop and train quality auditors to monitor the HACCP paperwork. Develop corrective actions whenever necessary; assist in determining the root cause and develop preventative actions. Record and analyze cook deviation trends to problem solve proactively Understand and maintain compliance with weight programs including CN weights. Develop and monitor finished product evaluations as determined by customer or in-house requirements. Provide cook temperature trend analysis and oven calibration results to facility Investigateand resolve holds related to food safety Verify sanitation pre-operational inspections and advise the sanitation management of any deficiencies. Monitor all quality-related procedures and create or update procedures as necessary. Write anagenda and schedule weekly management meetings pertinent to areas of responsibility Assist the other quality management when needed. Coordinate the timely completion of SQF requirements Work closely with the USDA in maintaining compliance with federal regulations for labeling sanitation and operating procedures. Work closely with Production Customer Relations Sales and Warehousing to achieve company goals for quality productivity and yields. Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and advances in the state of the industry Champion improvement projects and complete special assignments as directed. Effectively utilize the resources of the department. Monitor the hours of direct reports. And review budgetedline items that you control monthly. Develop direct reports for positions of increased responsibility Daily: Give daily feedback to the leadership team concerning projects Coordinate micro corrective actions with appropriate operational andsanitation team members Respond to foreign material and cook temperature concerns Conduct HACCP record review and pre-shipment as needed Review holds investigate and provide dispositions Other daily functions as assigned Report on held product Weekly: Review microbiological performance of facility developing action plans for tactical and strategic improvement Conduct food safety meetings and provide input during USDA meetings Participate in SQF steering team Perform assign or validate SQF-related tasks on schedule Report on held product Other weekly functions as assigned Directly supervises up to 5 employees in the facility s Quality department.
