This position, located in the Cincinnati, OH market, reports to the Senior Customer Category Manger – Kroger and supports category leadership efforts by providing ad-hoc category and shopper analytics and developing actionable recommendations to drive category/brand growth. These insights will create and deliver solutions that satisfy both Tyson and Kroger strategies and objectives. It involves a high level of interaction with both Tyson and Kroger management.
Utilizes department & category leadership platforms to create actionable and relevant insights that can be applied to retailer-specific category strategic and tactical plans. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Collaborates with retailer on insights utilizing market and competitive trends
Leverages key shopper and industry trends
Analyzes category, competitive and market trends (syndicated data)
Develops and drives assortment and space optimization at the retailer
Provides on-going post promotional analysis for retailer
Develops Category Business Plans with internal sales team
Develops customer Category Reviews and New Item presentations with the support of various team members.
Develops insight-based recommendations based on analysis of space management (e.g., assortment), sales, distribution, pricing and promotion
Provides ongoing reporting to both retailer and sales teams
Kroger experience and/or Kroger specific data (84.51, Market 6, IRI) is highly preferred
Strong experience in syndicated data systems (Nielsen/IRI)
Minimum 4-6 years in category management/shopper insights or similar function in Consumer-Packaged Goods (preferred). Food industry experience a plus.
Advanced computer skills in PowerPoint and Excel.
Must be comfortable presenting to Sr. Mgmt. and voicing opinion to team
Excellent planning and project management skills
Strong ability to leverage creative thinking and presentation skills
Travel: Minimal, estimated 10 – 25%

Monitor all quality-related procedures and create or update procedures as necessary. Write anagenda and schedule weekly management meetings pertinent to areas of responsibility Assist the other quality management when needed. Coordinate the timely completion of SQF requirements Work closely with the USDA in maintaining compliance with federal regulations for labeling sanitation and operating procedures. Work closely with Production Customer Relations Sales and Warehousing to achieve company goals for quality productivity and yields. Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and advances in the state of the industry Champion improvement projects and complete special assignments as directed. Effectively utilize the resources of the department. Monitor the hours of direct reports. And review budgetedline items that you control monthly.
