The Organic Geochemistry (OG) Project at TRC-Q is tailored to pursue R&D studies relevant for TotalEnergies E&P and its partners in Qatar. The OG team also supports operational activities of TotalEnergies in Qatar and its local partner companies by providing geochemical service studies. Finally, the OG team also builds collaboration with partners and enhance reputation of TotalEnergies. The TRC-Q is equipped with a fully operational organic geochemistry laboratory including several classical state-of-the-art lab instruments. The 2 key Research & development projects of the OG team are Fluid Mapping and Condensate Production Allocation.
As a geochemistry Engineer, you will need to comply with TotalEnergies’s HSE policy, when working in the Organic Geochemistry labs at TRC-Q. The key role of the Geochemistry Engineer is to contribute to the R&D projects and services to our stakeholders You will contribute to the planning, execution and reporting on this program and studies. You will contribute , inter alia, to the analysis, interpretation, reporting and development of the Fluid Mapping and Production Allocation methodologies.
Your main missions will be:
General missions:
Ensure full TRCQ OG lab safety and security;
Contribute to regular maintenance & repair of selected OG lab instruments;
Contribute to the Planning, Execution and reporting of the R&D programs;
Carry-out lab analyses, perform QA&QC and interpretation of OG lab data for fluid mapping project;
Improve the methodology used for fluid mapping;
Provide support to the OG team on production allocation project and other projects.
HSE:
Knowledge and application of Corporate HSE policy;
Participation to HSE activities (e.g. referential, reporting, REX, audits, trainings, risk assessment, permit to work);
Contribute to full lab safety /security in TRC-Q’s Organic Geochemistry Laboratories.
TRC-Q OG Lab management:
Contribute to the maintenance & repair of selected lab hardware/instruments;
Contribute to the Maintenance & and update of existing lab instrument software’s (together with IT department);
Organize the purchase / replacement of spare parts & lab consumables;
Formalize existing lab methods / protocols (in English);
Implement and establish new lab methods & develop and improve existing analytical protocols and instruments.
TRCQ OG Lab Quality Control & Development:
Perform QA/QC of lab data;
Perform advanced lab analyses and interpretation (old samples and new samples);
Implement new lab instruments;
Develop new methodologies (e.g., production allocation project);
Improve Interpretation Methods, Screen new analytical methods.
Data Interpretation/reporting:
Interpretation of OG lab data for R&D and Services studies;
Documentation and presentation of interpreted results in written and oral formats (Memo’s, Reports, Power-Point, Presentations) – after internal verification and validation by Geochemistry Researcher / Project Leader.
Publications/Communications/Training:
Contribute to external publications/communications at national and international conferences / workshops;
Train/coach colleagues, internal and external stakeholders.
