About The Opportunity

Taymor is looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our team in Delta, BC. This role currently follows a hybrid work model with a mix of in-office (at least twice a week) and work from home flexibility.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will be part of a team of two that will be responsible for overseeing the entire payroll and benefits function for Canada and USA, including related financial support to the business for the entire payroll process; such as accounting of payroll entries, forecasting and budgeting of payroll, payroll payables, and reporting.

Your essential tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing bi-weekly payroll for Taymor Canada (approx. 120 employees) and USA (approx. 30 employees)
  • Overseeing individual payroll, personnel, and benefits (e.g., group insurance, MSP, RRSP, DPSP, etc.) files for all Canadian and American Taymor associates
  • Managing full reports and documentations, including attendance, quarterly sales bonuses, grid summaries, pay scale reports, labour cost variances, anniversary, etc.
  • Processing final payments, severance pays, ROEs, including tracking of termination settlements payments
  • Managing group insurance and benefit premium payments
  • Overseeing WCB and WSIB and simiar USA reports, remittance, and payments
  • Preparing, processing, and reconciling tax slips, summaries, as well as CRA and IRS statements and deductions
  • Processing RRSP and 401K contributions, payments, deductions, and reports
  • Processing sales bonuses and reports for individual sales reps
  • Reconciling all labour and benefit related general ledger accounts, as well as maintaining all related liabilities, payroll control, and payroll bank accounts
  • Overseeing salary, wage analysis, overtime pays, special pays, ad hoc labour related costs, and other payroll-related issues and processes
  • Acting as subject-matter expert in all payroll-related inquiries

About You

To qualify, you will need at least 5 years experience in managing full range payroll administration for a medium-sized company, as well as a post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

You will need an excellent knowledge of Canadian and USA payroll processes, laws, and regulations to successfully perform this role.

In addition, the following skills and experience are essential:

  • Managing benefits and group insurance
  • Payroll account reconciliation and general ledger maintenance
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce (a big plus)
  • Payroll accounting best practices and record keeping
  • Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel to handle big amount of data efficiently
  • Exposure in handling confidential information
  • Strong background dealing with WCB, WSIB, CRA, and other CND and USA government agencies
  • CPA designation (asset)
