The Athens campus provides inpatient and outpatient services through its 118-bed acute care facility and physician practices. Starr Regional Medical Center’s Etowah campus is home to an emergency department, outpatient services, an 88-bed skilled and long-term care nursing home, a senior care program and wound care center.
Our physician practice in Etowah, Starr Regional Family Practice, is currently seeking talent to fill the position of day shiftCertified Medical Assistant (CMA). This job is permanent, full-time.

Core competencies for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program is required.
Current RMA / CMA / NCMA or CCMA Certification issued by the credentialing body of the AAMA / ARMA is required.
BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required at the time of hire.
