Stantec is currently looking for a Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Doha operations and support on our ongoing and upcoming projects in Qatar.

The role involves working on projects associated with wastewater and water engineering. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction management. Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  1. Manage project delivery and Execution.

• Project delivery planning and control.

• Determine budgets, timelines and cost estimates for project design and construction.

• Management of project financials.

• Development of project programs and project execution plans.

• Internal and external project reporting.

• Contract management and reporting.

• Overviewing Construction phase and liaising with Contractors and Developers.

• Management of sub-consultants.

• Quality and HSE assurance.

  1. Oversee project technical delivery as part of a team.

• Understanding of client requirements and processes.

• Managing all stages of the design process from concept to detail design, and tender.

• Leading the engineering delivery team and manage project activities through the application of technical engineering planning, principles and techniques

• Review project deliverables including writing technical reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, handling project correspondence.

• Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems.

• Liaison with the different teams working to facilitate completion of tasks, and project.

• Good communicator.

• Support the team through the delivery process including the technical studies and site investigations

• Clients and stakeholders management, communication and liaison.

• Internal and external client liaison

• Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships

Qualifications:

• 15 years of minimum experience, including 5 years of consultancy experience in Qatar.

• Degree in Civil Engineering, from a recognized University.

• Professional Certification or degree in Project Management.

• Excellent command English both written and spoken.

• The ability to manage a heavy workload, with a close attention to detail.

• Excellent computer skills.

• The ability to work autonomously, reviewing your work on a regular basis while consistently meeting your objectives.

We’re looking to hire an HR Specialist in the C4b Team to provide expert guidance to our client, Qatar’s Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’, for a defined time-period of 2 months.

The successful candidate would support HR initiatives across the Roads Operations and Maintenance Department (ROMD) within Ashghal’s Assets Affairs business, as part of its on-going transformation in line with Ashghal’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Overview / Job Description

We are currently looking for a senior Road Management Centre (RMC) Operation and Maintenance Engineer. The RMC operation & maintenance engineer will work as part of a team to manage incidents, monitor congestion and facilitate maintenance activities using various tools available in the RMC Software System.

Qatar Public Works Authority, known as Ashghal, has constructed and is operating a Roads Management Centre to coordinate its maintenance and operations as activities. It is a state-of-the-art facility, which uses a range of best in class technologies to maintain, monitor and manage the roads assets under the responsibility of Assets Affairs. The RMC is the hub for all Ashghal road asset related issues and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has the tools available to respond to and manage incidents and events that affect the Ashghal network quickly and safely. It is already an integral part of the Qatar National infrastructure and is working alongside key network partners such as MOI, MOTC, Supreme Committee and others to improve road safety, reduce congestion and improve the customer experience.

The senior operation & maintenance engineer candidate will be responsible for but not limited the following tasks:

• The dissemination of information regarding active incidents.

• Coordination with emergency response units.

• Maintaining a working knowledge of all RMC system applications.

• Continuous monitoring of system devices.

• Perform all traffic and safety related operations and record keeping duties associated with the smooth operations of the RMC. Examples of duties include:

o Monitor system resources to quickly detect and identify incident or hazardous conditions

o Monitor Roadway Weather Information System

o Assist in preparing incident and construction event information for subsequent dissemination

o Display library or template based variable message sign messages in accordance with RMC guidelines

o Monitor system performance and generate work order reports as required

o Perform record keeping tasks such as daily communication logs and incident reports.

o Coordinate with other agency and construction staff

o Reporting incidents using a variety of media and communication techniques

• Support organizational values in delivering safer roads, sustainability and proactive traffic monitoring and incident management.

• Provide accurate and timely information to stakeholders and the traveling public, e.g., other agencies and personnel as requested.

• Monitor the operation of the network by analyzing information from the GIS, Police Services, traffic management systems, including CCTV, historic and predicted traffic patterns.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 -15 years of Post Qualification experience working with Intelligent Transportation Systems and Traffic Management Center operations.

• Experience working for a municipal transportation department and working knowledge of central operating platforms for traffic cameras and electronic message signs.

• Experience with of central traffic signal systems.

• Excellent project management skills, including problem solving, maturity, empowerment and communication skills

• Ability to lead and follow protocol during a crisis situation.

Stantec Qatar is seeking a Drainage Network Operations Engineer with broad experience in the O&M of sewage infrastructure, and specific experience in developing and implementing infiltration reduction plans for sewage networks. The candidate would work with our client Ashghal to support their implementation and delivery of robust action plans for some of their key operational challenges (initially focused on infiltration / inflow reductions). The role involves close work with many stakeholders across multiple departments within the Ashghal organisation and its supply chain.

Responsibilities Include:

• Review of existing practices within the business to manage sewage quality issues

• Mapping of data required to actively monitor deterioration in sewage quality

• Develop and roll out an action plan to manage key operational challenges including infiltration

• Identify and collaborate with relevant stakeholders for delivery of operational improvements

• Train and coach members of the client’s team on usage of data and tools to make informed decisions

• Monitor and report on a regular basis the effectiveness of action plans and deviation from targets

• Facilitate team meetings, discussions and maintaining action logs for follow up and completion

• Document the implemented approach in manuals for future reference and adoption

Qualifications:

a) Degree or higher-level qualification in engineering (e.g., BSc, BEng, MSc Civil)

b) Preferred Chartered Status preferred

Experience:

a) Minimum of 10 years relevant and practical experience within major water / wastewater utility organisation(s)

b) Minimum of 5 years relevant wastewater networks experience

c) Experienced in leading / advising teams on wastewater network operations and challenges, and specifically addressing infiltration / inflow

d) Consulting experience will be an added advantage

Technical Competencies:

a) Qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specialised activities, disciplines or teams of moderate size and complexity

b) Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts and drives change focused on improvements
