Overview of Responsibilities
As a Deli Clerk, you will have a role in helping customers make healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals” and providing a high level of customer service in one of our most popular departments! Qualifications
To be a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market you must:
Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Be dependable and reliable
Have and show an outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers
Have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Have good communication skills; and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
Be able to answer phones and take special orders
Must be able to lift/carry product horizontally/vertically weighing up to 70 lbs., from 4” to 60”, for a distance up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours
Must be able to stand for up to 4 hour continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
Operate a slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment; assisting in maintaining all equipment in safe working condition.
Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
Be able to work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
Other related duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for the planning of inbound and outbound company-controlled freight being delivered to the SFM Distribution Centers, retail locations, and other destinations as deemed necessary. Planning and optimization of this freight will be completed in the company’s Transportation Management System in adherence to SFM’s Procurement, Distribution Center, and Retail teams’ scheduling policies. The Planning Specialist is responsible for aligning the inbound & outbound strategy with Supply Chain and Distribution teams for the most efficient and timely flow of freight to its final destination. This positoin is located in our Glendale, AZ DC.
Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Establish positive collaborative business relationships and partnerships across internal teams, distribution centers, carriers, and suppliers within the network
Optimize and route loads to maximize cube and weight utilization while ensuring service requirements are met
Build and tender loads to third-party and company controlled dedicated carriers utilizing Mercury Gate TMS and other systems as needed
Negotiate favorable freight rates on the spot market and before, during, and after freight RFP bids to ensure the most cost-effective transportation possible
Complete data and prepare various reports and professional correspondence as required
Work in close collaboration with internal produce procurement teams and other company supply chain staff
Communicate with carriers, brokers, and vendors to determine status of shipments, resolve issues as needed, and communicate appropriate information to internal and external stakeholders
Optimize lanes and control expense through the development of a freight strategy that aligns with company pricing strategy
Execute timely delivery of product to support inventory initiatives, reduce shrink, and optimize company operations
Act as a liaison with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to ensure product delivery according to customer requirements

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities & Physical Requirements)
Logistics experience is required, including load planning, routing, and track & trace functions
For inbound role, experience coordinating inbound produce shipments is preferred
Strong business acumen and project management capabilities
Analytical, creative, and innovative thinking style
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and problem solving skills
Knowledge of Mercury Gate TMS is preferred
Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
