10+ years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience. Management or team leadership experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to lead large teams. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Our CGBU North America Oracle Communications Consulting team seeks an experienced business development professional who excels at creating and presenting technical solutions and has knowledge of and the ability to present industry best practices for Oracle’s Session Delivery products with a focus on Session Border Controllers (SBCs). This individual will work closely with Oracle Communications Consulting (OCC) Sales to create and present compelling managed services, large scale implementation and innovative solutions to key customers.
Acting as a trusted advisor, the Business Development Director will drive new business with new and existing customers through technical and business solution development and must have the ability to create and present persuasive solutions to both customer technical teams and C-level executives which effectively communicates Oracle’s value proposition. This team player is willing to do what it takes to create the solution, achieve customer trust, and win large deals driving new business in innovative ways. This team member will work very closely with OCC sales through the evolution of the sales process and hand off to delivery for execution.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Business or equivalent and 10+ years of SBC experience
Balance of advanced pre-sales technical skills, functional knowledge, and client consultative skills
10-15 years consulting or industry experience. 10+ years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting pre-sales experience
Experience supporting large deal selling within complex customer organizations
Previous large consulting firm experience is a plus
Experience working in highly complex organizations with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a technical deep dive
Capture, shape, and synthesize information to reflect a cohesive message, written in one voice
Translate technical information and business jargon into clear, consistent, and grammatically correct content
Demonstrate a finely tuned ability to sift through a discussion, extracting the most significant information and action items
Candidate must possess impeccable communications skills (verbal and written) and strong customer communication skills
Team oriented player with a willingness to help others
Ability to develop and maintain relationships at the executive level. Proficient in using selling and negotiation techniques and tools
Responsible for cultivating Oracle cross-functional communications through the creation and maintenance of strategic relationships with other lines of business which may include Product Development, Product Marketing, Support, Consulting Sales, and License Sales
Prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
Work with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability. Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide Development Teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the affect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies.
A BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent. Identifies solutions to knowledge of server hardware and software configuration, networking, standard internet services, scripting languages, cloud computing patterns, technology security and compliance. Experience running large scale customer facing web services. Identifies solutions to understanding of load balancing technologies and experience with development in programming languages, databases and big data stores, and container technologies. Work involves defining and documenting technical architecture of complex and highly scalable products. A minimum of 5+ years experience of running large scale customer facing web services.
