Overview / Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Complete calibrations of mechanical related measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision to support the value streams and their customers.  This includes the planning, and completing of mechanical calibration and maintenance/repair activities and assist in identifying, resolving, or escalating issues related to mechanical hardware and test equipment.
  • Interpret and work directly from drawings, calibration procedures, Moog specifications, manufacturer’s instructions, and/or applicable Military Specifications to complete calibrations.
  • Assist Hydraulic and Electrical Technicians with calibrations, when required.
  • Vendor interaction and processing of M&TE calibrations including
  • Help to resolve technical issues with vendors and/or contracted services or escalate, when necessary.
  • Ensure the maintenance of calibration records and traceability to the National Bureau of Standards as well as compliance to applicable Military Standards and specifications.
  • Support internal, regulatory, registrar and customer audits.
  • Participate in root cause investigation and corrective action implementation of immediate and permanent corrective actions to prevent a recurrence.
  • Provide recommendations for updating existing calibration test procedures and data sheets.  This may include working directly with a Calibration Engineer to complete an initial calibration to establish acceptable standards and methods to be followed in subsequent calibrations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to assist in the calibration of equipment in an orderly, efficient, and safe manner.
  •  Operate company vehicle or handcarts for transporting equipment and performing on-site calibration/repair and/or maintenance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Over three years of related experience, which should include the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings, as well as calibration and hydraulics.
