Overview / Job Description

Are you passionate about developers? Do you want to help accelerate the developer ecosystem around Microsoft 365, the most popular productivity suite on the planet?

If so, the Office Platform team would love to talk to you.

We’re looking for someone that can help us expand the Microsoft 365 developer platform and ecosystem, while also laying the foundation for a growing Technical Program Management discipline within our team.

About the Team

The Office Platform team plays a central role in the Microsoft 365 developer story. We are responsible for the platform that allows developers (both first- and third-party) to integrate with and extend Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook across Windows, Mac, Office Online, iOS, and Android. We also partner closely with teams across Office 365 to deliver a cohesive platform story for all Office developers.

In addition to that foundational platform work, we also build innovative end user solutions which are anchored in that platform, including end user automation with Office Scripts, advanced data science capabilities for Excel, and integrating our newest collaboration platform, Loops, into some of the most widely used applications on the planet.

We are a diverse, worldwide, passionate, customer-obsessed team with a highly collaborative environment, focused on ensuring that we have a world-class platform and a successful, thriving partner ecosystem.

Responsibilities

About the Position

You would join the team as TPM managing multiple critical efforts, including:

  • The transformation of our development platform from a siloed platform for extending Office into a central part of our unified Microsoft 365 developer platform – a highly collaborative program, spanning a number of teams and geographies.
  • The delivery of work for customer engagements that drive further improvement in our ability to build collaborative apps that deeply integrate into the capabilities of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

In addition to the technical program, you will also work to pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team, leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to teach the org what a great TPM can do.

We’d love to talk to you, if you

  • Are a passionate problem solver, who continuously strives to make things better
  • Enjoy wearing multiple hats and digging in to make things happen
  • Are eager to leverage your experience as a TPM to track and communicate program progress and future plans, identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and coordinate the virtual team.
  • Are excited by the challenge of connecting cross-functional, global, and virtual project teams across a broad and varied set of services, technology and partners, to deliver a successful program.
  • Are equally comfortable articulating the big picture and refining the small details of a system
  • Are customer and data obsessed, always learning, and refining your features to deliver maximum business impact
  • Love pushing for clarity in communication and can explain large, complex systems, in simple-straightforward language
  • Have a strong drive to take a broad view on platform, thinking not only about the traditional topics of APIs, extension points, etc. but also about how extensions impact and integrate with the user experience
  • Know how to balance passion and opinion with being a great team player

Office Platform is incredibly committed to diversity and equal opportunity.  We believe that the best software comes from a diverse, inclusive team that celebrates the unique backgrounds, perspectives, and skills of all team members. The more we come together, the more we will achieve.

Join us in building the future!
