As a Principal Software Engineer, you would be responsible for building and managing data pipelines at Mendel and also help integrate it with productizing our in-house AI products and applications.

What we look for
8+ years of experience in software engineering
Proficiency in functional programming language and 4+ years of experience in Scala.
Must be proficient in Akka Streams, Actor systems and Akka HTTP.
Experience with ElasticSearch, Redis, and Kafka
Hands-on experience with Postgres and/or writing SQL queries.
Strong experience and knowledge of database concepts.
Expertise in build and deployment of micro services in kubernetes
Experience in bash scripting and be able to write ad-hoc deployment and troubleshooting scripts.
M.S (or higher) in Computer Science, and/or a related field.
Strong experience and knowledge on data structures and algorithms.
Nice To Have
Golang, Python
Writing operators in kubernetes.
Knowledge of build systems (like sbt, gradle, …)
Knowledge of devops and GCP (and other cloud vendors).
