Overview / Job Description

Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to support its Engineering department. Selected applicant will be responsible for process and project planning, cost analysis, execution, implementation and ongoing support.   Researches and evaluates on new product lines and business opportunities. Support other Engineering and Operations department improvements.

This position may be assigned to one or more departments depending upon the company needs at the time.

Essential Duties

This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned task.   May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.

 

  1. Responsible for Project Management (PM) utilizing the most efficient practices and principles in the overhaul of commercial aerospace components. Work closely with the business functional areas and external customers and vendors in defining process and project priorities.
  2. Research and evaluate requests from customers on new product lines.  Create project plan; Discuss and review plan with customer representatives, engineers, Senior Management, and other personnel.
  3. Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities. Coordinate internal and external resources to successfully complete total mechanical/electromechanical product development to customer specifications and documentation requirements; Coordinate design, production, testing, and related activities.
  4. Execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  5. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of project and scope. Direct the project team by ensuring, when possible, that project tasks are in line with each customer’s interests; Provide training and coaching of personnel; provide feedback regarding performance to project participant’s direct manager.
  6. Hold regular status meetings with project team; Keep project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news; Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
  7. Provide technical expertise at all levels of the overhaul process; Determine airworthiness of the product.  Consult with personnel, vendors, and customers.
  8. Manage Technology and vendor/partner relationships, service delivery and overall performance.
  9. Develop lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties; Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships;
  10. Resolve and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion; communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully; Build a knowledge base of each client’s business, organization and objectives
  11. Review and test deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
  12. Effectively apply our methodology and enforce project standards.
  13. Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  14. Minimize our exposure and risk on project.
  15. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  16. Manage project budget; Analyzes the project plan(s) to determine feasibility, cost, and production time. Track and report team hours and expenses on a weekly or monthly basis.
  17. Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and monitor receivables for project.
  18. Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
  19. Responsible for all application business solutions and services.
  20. Research new business opportunities and advise Senior Management on cost analysis. If appropriate, develop these new business opportunities.
  21. Coordinate the development of new Parts Manufacturing Approvals (PMA) with PMA manufacturers.  Source and research for vendors and manufacturers to order tools and fixtures; forward information to the Material Services Unit (MSU) and Purchasing Department to develop appropriate contacts.
  22. Work closely with Lean Management to coordinate projects.
  23. Manage the department intern personnel; including needs assessment, interviewing and selection, and hiring. Take over technical guidance of interns and assist with documentation and presenting performance evaluation feedback for interns.
  24. Develop automation tools for maintenance of master data governing the disassembly, testing, repair, and assembly of landing gear parts.
  25. Establish new capability avenues for repair of parts internally.
  26. Coordinate with internal customers for improvement-designed projects, specifically in the areas of reporting, workflow efficiency, and compliance.
  27. Coordinate development of automated programming for technical parts internal fabrication topics.
  28. Support company goals through continuous improvements in a visible and positive manner, which increases productivity and reduces costs.
  29. Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  30. Adhere to all the rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  31. Responsibility to work with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
  32. Performs other duties as required by business needs.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Engineering or STEM related field preferred.

Experience:

Two (2) years’ related experience preferred.

Preferred experience in programming languages (minimum VBA), SolidWorks, and CAMWorks.

Preferred: Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Landing Gear Experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.   Superior presentation and negotiation skills.  Strong adaptability and capacity to work in fast-paced environments.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.  Attention to detail and ability to multitask tasks from multiple administrators.  SAP Knowledge.

The Customer Service Agent will provide assistance to passengers and crew throughout the different stages of travel through our Jet Aviation FBO’s. The job incumbent will be the main point of contact for service requests, inquiries, suggestions and complaints.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide the best possible levels of service to our customers in a welcoming, friendly and respectful manner – make the customer feel at home
  • Resolve customer inquiries and complaints fairly and effectively
  • Increase customer satisfaction by understanding their needs and by responding to them promptly and efficiently
  • Provide product and service information to customers and identify up-selling opportunities to maintain and increase income streams from customer relationships
  • Recommend and implement programs to support customer needs
  • Assist flight crews and customers with arrangements for hotels, ground transportation, catering, customs and other miscellaneous vendor service requirements
  • Attend to handling requests, carry out pre- and post-flight administrative tasks including proper recording of all services in FBO1
