This position will perform preventive maintenance, most routine maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained in proper working condition using safe work habits, and will also assist the Maintenance Mechanics with more complex issues and repairs that are not standard procedures of the Helper position. These areas will include general maintenance to buildings, grounds, machinery, racking, and etc.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Major responsibilities of the position are listed below.
To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.
Assist Maintenance Mechanics with assigned repair and maintenance activities.
Operate the BHS battery changing system and required to perform all batteries changes as needed as needed.
Required to perform other daily duties as assigned including equipment PMs, project tasks, and routine duties such as water and ice clean up, maintenance shop organizing, and other minor warehouse or exterior tasks as needed.
Required to attend daily department start up meetings with the maintenance supervisor to discuss the daily assignments and or issues.
Maintenance Helpers will not perform any electrical diagnostics or repairs and are forbidden to open any electrical breaker panels, control boxes, or expose any live circuits. Helpers are required to notify the shift Mechanic with all electrical needs or issues immediately.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
2+ years maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
Previous forklift and boom lift experience prefered.
Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools required.
Basic reading (English) skills.
Basic Mathematical abilities.
Previous Lock out tag out, Hot work permit, Confined Space Awareness, and Food Safety experience is a plus.
Candidates will be required to complete company training and food safety practices.

This position monitors and manages the put away, picking, shipping and replenishment work queues. Accountable for extensive communication with the Supervisors, Coordinators or Planners, as workloads and priorities change for labor to be effectively allocated and maintain customer satisfaction. Assists in the training of seasonal Work Queue Monitor and at times may be requested to assist other areas.
Excellent communication skills are necessary to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of company personnel.
Must be a reliable self-starter, willing and able to learn new responsibilities, the ability to successfully work as part of a team is essential.
Previous production experience is strongly preferred.
Must have computer skills and be able to learn new technical tasks.
Must be flexible with regard to schedule and job assignments. Hours and days may change based on production needs and overtime may be required in the fall months.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Other physical activities include bending, lifting, twisting, walking, repetitive wrist movement, standing, sitting, and working in dust and varying temperatures.
