  • Be responsible for overseeing the cable pulling operation (in duct banks, direct buried, or on trays or other).
  • Install, join, splice, and terminate underground high-voltage power cable systems for field installations in accordance with defined procedures for 69kV to 500kV systems.
  • Install, join, splice, and terminate high-voltage power cable systems for qualification testing purposes according to national and international standards and specifications.
  • Perform grounding of cables and installing components such as fiber optics on overhead structures or manholes or in GIS buildings
  • Safely operate and keep clean any piece of equipment necessary for installation.
  • Read, comprehend and execute processes and procedures according to the Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)/Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which are necessary to properly operate the equipment and document relevant data and holdpoints.
  • Perform work at zero-fault quality
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform cable system installations in a team environment.
  • Represent GreenEcho towards Clients and Subcontractors for coordination of site activities.
  • Participate in building partnership with our Clients.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Document and report installation activities for quality, progress and performance
  • Strong sense of quality in application of Standard Work Instructions and Standards
  • Adaptable, flexible and resourceful with ability to work independently for extended periods in various environments
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Methodical in measuring Indicators
  • Ability to participate in and promote Teamwork with internal and external partners
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in operating equipment
  • High School Diploma, technical secondary education preferred
  • Experience as High Voltage Cable Splicer, including experience with minimum 138kV XLPE cables a definite asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Safety standards and Electrical Codes.
  • Able to work at elevated heights and enclosed spaces.
  • Experience with Jacket Integrity tests, Cable Fault Locating / Testing Equipment and asset
  • Experience with fiber optical splicing an asset
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, one line diagrams with proficiency.
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend directives for required document control, equipment operation, and follow direction of supervisor/peer instructions.
  • Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret standard and specification requirements, SOP manuals, drawings, etc.
  • Must understand and comply with all policies and procedures of GreenEcho High Voltage USA Inc including attendance, breaks, conduct, and so forth.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment and periodic physical and drug test
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid US Passport for travel outside the United States. Extensive travel within North America and some overseas travel are required for this position.
