The Activity Lead Supervisor II, Day Programs leads the Possibilities Rehabilitation Day Program activity, curriculum, and community integration programs by effectively developing and implementing a therapeutic activity atmosphere for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification, experience in curriculum/instruction, and/or providing services to persons with physical, emotional and/or developmental disabilities. A Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening is required
The Possibilities Activity Lead Supervisor II should have the ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with clients, coworkers, supervisors, family members, guardians, Host Home Providers, and community referral sources. The incumbent must be able to respond to special requests on short notice, function as an active and contributing team member and complete assigned tasks completely, accurately and in a timely manner. The incumbent must be able to write clear, concise and accurate reports and plans, record and maintain records, and files as required. The incumbent must also communicate effectively, conduct self in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance that enhances the firm’s reputation. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of community resources, have the ability to program, train and be creative in motivating clients towards independence and success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
The Possibilities Activity Lead Supervisor II will direct and assist all programmatic staff (Instructors and Community Liaisons) in developing/ implement a well-rounded activity program and monthly calendar that meets the needs of the persons attending the program. The Lead will assist with activity groups and participate in coverage when absenteeism of staff occurs. The Day Program Supervisor II will be an active member of the Outcome Management team and will ensure activities and curriculum are consistent with data collection. The Activities Lead will work with the Possibilities Community Liaisons in coordinating community participation sites and/or reverse integration activities, establishing meaningful relationships and partnerships with community members for the benefit of program participants. The Day Programs Supervisor II will assist with the planning and carrying out unique program events, including parties, yearly participant City Council and Mayoral election, and special events. The incumbent must maintain a professional appearance and attire.
The Activity Lead Supervisor II will deal effectively and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines and perform other duties as required, participating in staff meetings and trainings. The incumbent will also maintain a good working knowledge of Goodwill of Colorado’s policies and procedures. The Activity Lead Supervisor II must demonstrate good customer service and social skills when dealing with all customers, stakeholders, and community members and perform other duties as required by the Rehabilitation Team.
Tracking, Documenting and Reporting
The Day Programs Supervisor II is responsible for coordinating, overseeing and reviewing each Instructor’s monthly lesson plans as well as the Community Liaison’s monthly Outings Calendar and bus Vehicle Inspection Reports. The Activity Lead will approve expense reports and maintain the Cost of Centers as outlined in the yearly Possibilities Budget.
Staff Supervision and Support
The Activities Lead will ensure all programmatic staff is present for work, monitoring and approving their times. The Activities Lead will assist all staff in behavior management and act as the lead staff to help clients maintain appropriate behavior while at the program. The Activity Lead Supervisor II will provide conflict resolution to the staff and provide assistance with problems and conflicts. The Activity Lead will also train all staff on new systems and encourage cohesiveness throughout the team. As a team lead, the incumbent will write and give performance evaluations at the employee’s 90-day and yearly performance review period. The Day Programs Supervisor II will work closely with the Program Coordinator to ensure organizational structures enhance daily programming. The incumbent will deal with all necessary action regarding staff in a professional manner.
Research and Industry Involvement
The Day Programs Supervisor II must maintain a working and current knowledge of Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) Rules and Regulations and Standards of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and a good working knowledge of Goodwill’s policies and procedures. In addition, the incumbent will attend trainings and sign staff for necessary trainings and participate in team meetings.
Work Schedule/Work Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, flexible
