Overview / Job Description

Lead the development of programmatic focused solutions to support business development opportunities and projects. Provide expert advice on integrating contract and corporate solutions while linking delivery to growth goals and driving how we help employees and customers meets their needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Single threaded leader for Big Data, Analytics, AI/ML
  • Provide strategic leadership as it relates to Big Data, Analytics, AI/ML and strive to take Cherokee Federal to industry leadership.
  • Develop Offerings aligned with past performances and emerging trends.
  • Recommend and participate in road mapping and delivery of Big Data, Analytics, AI/ML Training.
  • Lead by example – advise clients, mentor practitioners.
  • Work across the organization and support your peers to build joint solutions.
  • Inspects and evaluates delivery of Big Data, Analytics, AI/ML activities to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Serves as the lead solutions architect for program, business-related opportunities and projects in identifying and providing solutions to solve complex business opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains relationships to advance the corporate culture and become a sought-out resource for emerging challenges and issues.
  • Maintains a robust understanding of the federal marketspace – evolving priorities, challenges, market trends and solution enhancement opportunities.
  • Understands the competitive forces driving the federal market to ensure proposed solutions result in winning new work.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Supervise/manage a department and have authority over hiring/firing/performance decisions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field and at least 10 years of experience in providing product solutions to the federal government or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have at least 5 years of leadership experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge and understanding of solutions development expertise developing points of view, CONOPS, white papers and proposal technical sections.
  • Excellent communication skills in presenting to a variety of audience types, including technical experts, prospective clients, teaming partners and industry groups.
  • Experience leading, working and collaborating with other internal corporate stakeholders to successfully deliver work products.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with strong graphical, presentation and writing skills that can be applied in different environment and scenarios.
  • Demonstrated ability to intake complex requirements and distill the critical path and root cause and then develop a realistic, achievable and successful solution.
  • Ability to critically assess government requirements (for example, performance work statements, statement of objectives, statements of work) and integrate industry knowledge with client knowledge to develop and write a solution that supports a compliant, compelling, cost competitive and executable solution.
  • Ability to successfully deliver results in a variety of work environments – operating as an individual contributor, leading a team and being part of a team.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret/top secret clearance.
  • Must have the ability to successfully pass a drug screen and a Federal Background check as a condition of employment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment. Work will require travel, including overnight stays up to 50% of the time.

Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate.  However, it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates COVID vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Summary:

The Staff Accountant ​will prepare spreadsheets and update databases, while maintaining accuracy, completeness, conforming to standards, and performing under deadlines. Assist in drafting and preparing project deliverables and support the team in all facets of everyday project production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following:

Individual must have the ability to learn techniques and processes related to document search, document analysis, and verification of Indian trust ownership and develop the ability to put into writing the recommendation for distribution of the funds.

  • Analyze information and documents to assist Senior Accountants and SAPL in account statement analysis, financial document analysis, lease analysis, ownership determination, and recommended action proposal.
  • Produce Recommended Action Forms (RAF), financial, and supporting documents for approval to BIA agency to distribute residuals.
  • Assist Senior Accountant Project Lead in planning for distributions, field contacts, and field visits.
  • Update databases as needed for tracking, documents, offsets, and distributions.
  • Establish and maintain contact with personnel in Lenexa for questions of document types and document requests.
  • Entry of requests for documents into DaRT for Youpee and SDA searches at the AIRR.
  • Maintain all files, boxes and cabinets in an orderly and logical format.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with BIA, BTFA and OTAR business partners and clients that promote the functionality of the project as a whole.
  • Must have the ability to meet project deadlines with the flexibility in changing project direction and able to travel.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Supervisory/Management Authority:

  • There are no position(s) that report to this position.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor Degree.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Historical Accounting
  • 3 years’ experience with regulatory compliance and records management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The Staff Accountants must possess the following additional skillsets:

  • Basic accounting principles and practices (debit/credit, transactions)
  • Effective communication
  • Problem solving
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis, as required.

Work Environment:

  • Office environment in a secured federal facility and remote work required.  Some travel may be required.  During COVID closures, employees are expected to provide a suitable work environment with adequate connectivity to enable expected productivity and seamless collaboration.
  • Pursuant to U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, Cherokee Federal is now requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8th and going forward. Prospective employees will fall under this requirement and proof of vaccination will be required for on-boarding, should you be selected. Limited exemptions for religious or medical reasons will be considered.
  • TEMPORARY NOTE: On Tuesday, Dec. 7, a federal judge issued an injunction blocking President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal contractors (EO 14042). Cherokee Federal is monitoring the court case and awaiting a final ruling. As a result of the injunction, Cherokee Federal is halting the enforcement of the mandate, however, if the injunction is lifted and the mandate remains, Cherokee Federal must reenact its vaccine requirement.
